In jewellery making, a “bench” is the craftsman’s workspace — a place where rings are forged, shaped, filed, and polished by hand. Here at KOBO Jewellery, the bench is more than just a workspace; it is a place where people gather to create, connect, and share meaningful moments together.

Last year, pure moments of joy and laughter filled our workshop as S and her family came together to create something deeply meaningful — a new pair of wedding bands. Joined by her partner, WL, and their two young daughters, the session unfolded into a heartfelt celebration of parenthood in its most tender, authentic form. As a mother, the experience became more than just crafting — it was about spending the quality time with her loved ones.

This article shares a visual walkthrough of the warm moments in KOBO’s cozy studio that we were so lucky to witness and capture.

Through the eyes of childhood

As the couple began crafting their rings side by side, their daughters explored the workshop in their own special way. While S and WL shared intimate moments shaping their wedding bands, the little ones delighted in complimentary stamping on our brass plates.

The brass plates served as a special keepsake — a time capsule capturing the fleeting joy of youth and child like wonder; creations made possible with the gentle guidance from their parents.

WL’s gentle guidance is present in every moment as he walks his eldest daughter through the engraving process, showing her how to handle the studio tools.
Confidently, she gains a newfound skill and becomes more at ease as she stays busy with her creations, stamping away!

As the daughters stay happily engaged with their engraving activities, the couple shares sweet, quiet moments together while their wedding bands are shaped and formed by their own hands.

In the gentle hands of parenthood

After much fun and practice on the brass plates, the little ones played a special role in the process, adding their own unique touches to the engravings and textures on their parents’ wedding bands.

The children’s and parents’ shared effort and hard work is now beautifully embedded within their new pair of wedding bands. The couple’s new wedding band now carry the playful touches of their children — yet another reminder that the most meaningful creations are often the ones made together with the people we love most.
