Class Details

This section offers essential details about our classes, including duration, materials provided, and common inquiries.

Absolutely! At KOBO, we strive to bring the artistry of fine jewellery crafting to everyone, whether it’s working with precious metals like 18K Gold, Platinum, or Silver.

Our goal is to ensure that every customer leaves our workshop with a memorable piece, crafted with care and creativity during our 2 to 3-hour sessions.

Explore our diverse range of classes, spanning from bridal and 18K/platinum to silver jewellery crafting.

Delve into our extensive menu, which includes ring-making sessions, as well as classes for crafting bangles, necklaces, and earrings.

Silver and K18/Platinum classes typically last for 2 hours, while bridal classes require 3 hours for completion.

🔸For Bridal classes:
2 time slots are available daily from 10am to 1pm or 2pm to 5pm.

🔸For Silver/18K or Platinum:
3 time slots are available daily from 10am to 12pm, 2pm to 4pm, and 5pm to 7pm.

In our studio, we specialize in working with a variety of precious metals, including:

🔸18K — Champagne, Rose, and Yellow Gold
🔸Platinum
🔸925 Silver

For (silver/18K) classes that does not require stone settings, you will be able to collect the piece after the 2 hours class.

🔸For Wedding Rings:

The 3-hour class provides a comprehensive experience — the opportunity to engage in hand engraving and hammering textures on the metal ingot, which will then be transformed into your rings. If you’re crafting with 18K Gold, you’ll be able to collect your rings at the end of the class.

However, please understand that stone setting requires a lead time of 4 to 6 weeks. This is because the rings will need to be sent back to our Japan Atelier for the final finishing touches.

🔸For Engagement Ring:

The 2-hour class focuses on crafting the ring base, allowing you to enjoy hand engraving and creating textures on the metal ingot, which will be transformed into your ring.

Following this, our craftsmen from Japan will design a crown to fit the specific stone chosen, along with the stone-setting process, with a lead time of 6 to 8 weeks before completion.

Our workshops maintain a 1:1 instructor-to-group ratio. Should you choose to craft two rings independently, rest assured that our instructor will facilitate your progress, ensuring completion within the allocated session.

We are dedicated to bring the best experience to all customers. KOBO exclusive artisan events are held tentatively in every 3 months — please follow our socials for the latest news!

Mandarin classes are available based on instructor availability. If you require this service, please send us an inquiry before the class so we can make the necessary arrangements.

special requests

Some inquiries pertaining to requests for special customization services and gemstone queries.

As per company policy, we do not accept customer-provided gemstones and diamonds for stone setting, as this process is handled exclusively in Japan.

This ensures minimal risk of lost parcels or potential damage to the stones during shipping.

Certainly! Our parent company in Japan sources ethically natural diamonds and precious gemstones from around the world.

If you have a specific stone in mind, please send an inquiry with details such as carat size, shape, color, and budget. Our team in Japan will curate a selection for your consideration.

No, at KOBO Jewellery, we exclusively work with natural diamonds sourced by KAJITA Atelier, our parent company in Tokyo, Japan.

Unfortunately, we do not have the necessary equipment and facilities at our workshop to accommodate such requests.

However, we offer a range of customization options for creating unique and personalized pieces. Please explore our workshop menu or contact us for more information on customizing your jewellery.

At KOBO, our focus is on providing hands-on experiences through our workshops, where you can create your own unique pieces of jewellery.

While we don’t sell pre-made or made-to-order jewellery, we do offer customization options during our workshops, allowing you to tailor your creation according to your preferences.

Yes, we offer laser engraving for special symbols and font texts. However, additional charges will incur depending on the complexity of the engraving.

Please note that there will be a lead time of 4-6 weeks as we will have to ship it to Japan for the engraving process.

While we provide a range of fixed designs for selection, we’re open to considering custom designs on a case-by-case basis.

Additional fees may apply depending on the complexity of the design. Feel free to reach out to us with your specific design requests for further details.

jewellery care & warranty

This section provides vital details regarding jewelry care instructions and warranty coverage for KOBO products.

Here are some care tips to maintain the brilliance of your K18 gold, platinum, and silver jewellery:

🔸Regular Cleaning: Clean your jewellery regularly with a soft cloth to remove dirt and oils that can accumulate from everyday wear.

🔸Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Keep your jewellery away from harsh chemicals such as bleach, chlorine, and ammonia, as they can damage the metal and gemstones.

🔸Storage: Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place, preferably in individual pouches or compartments to prevent scratching and tangling.

🔸Avoid Impact: Be careful to avoid impact or rough handling, especially with delicate pieces set with gemstones.

🔸Protect from Moisture: Remove jewellery before swimming or bathing to prevent tarnishing or discoloration due to prolonged exposure to moisture

By following these care tips, you can help preserve the beauty and longevity of your K18 gold, platinum, and silver pieces for years to come.

To restore shine to your silver pieces, you can try the following methods:

🔸Polishing Cloth: Use a soft, non-abrasive polishing cloth specifically designed for gold or silver jewelry. Gently rub the cloth over the surface of the silver to remove tarnish and restore shine.

The studio offers these for $5 each. If interested, please inform our instructors at the conclusion of the class!

🔸Baking Soda Paste: Make a paste by mixing baking soda with water until it forms a thick consistency. Apply the paste to the tarnished areas using a soft cloth or sponge, then gently rub in a circular motion. Rinse with water and dry thoroughly.

All jewellery crafted at KOBO is covered by a one-year warranty from the date of collection, safeguarding against workmanship and material defects under proper usage. This warranty includes:

🔸Complimentary resizing for the first occurrence (up to 1 size only)
🔸Setting of loose gems provided the original stones are returned

Please note, this warranty excludes normal wear and tear and is void in cases of loss, theft, improper use, negligence, or unauthorized repair attempts.

Please note that resizing rings beyond the warranty period or requiring adjustments greater than one size will incur a charge* ranging from $30 to $50 (for bridal).

This fee covers additional craftsmanship costs, as our instructors or craftsmen from the Japan Atelier will need to refine the piece, either by removing excess material to make it smaller or adding material to make it larger.

*Additional charges may apply for more complex cases.

Please feel free to contact us for other inquires.
