Earthy Textures, Organically Handmade — 18K bands crafted by casting from silver originals

A couple of years ago, M & A approached us with a unique vision: they wanted to handcraft their own wedding rings featuring organic textures inspired by stones and mountain landscapes. To achieve this intricate design, we proposed a silver casting process. Initially, a pair of silver rings would be created, with engravings and textures applied before being molded and cast in the customers’ choice of precious metals, including 18K options like champagne, rose, yellow gold, or platinum.
Excited by the proposal, M & A decided to proceed.
Starting with the sourcing of precious gemstones, they expressed a preference for blue shades and inquired about incorporating sapphires into both rings — around 0.9 ct for A and smaller pieces for M.
They were thrilled to explore several options and ultimately selected a stunning 5.4 mm cushion-cut Montana sapphire, weighing 0.89 ct. To complement A’s ring, we decided to embellish M’s band with melee diamonds and gemstones that reflect the sapphire’s shades and tones.

Moments captured during the workshop session
With their stones selected, M and A began their engraving journey. They chose a simplified half-sun emoji for each ring. When placed together, the halves combine to form a complete sun, symbolizing their bond and love — bright on its own but complete as a whole.

The beauty of silver casting lies in the hand-carving steps that follow the typical ring-making process, which includes engravings, rounding, and firing. This is complemented by a sculpting and filing session using various hand tools, allowing participants’ creativity to flow and resulting in a truly unique piece.
During the session, M and A experienced a therapeutic process as they filed and carved organic contours onto each other’s rings, continually checking in on each other’s progress and preferences.

The end product was a pair of rings reminiscent of mountain landscapes, featuring organic contours that resonated deeply with the couple. The rings were later sent back to our Japan Atelier for further refinements and stone setting services.
(Please note that a lead time of 6 to 8 weeks is required for silver casting services.)
To conclude, let’s take a look at M & A’s organically carved rings, making it truly one of a kind —

With that, we conclude our sharing. Here’s to M & A — wishing you both a blissful and joyful beginning filled with adventures and an abundance of love.
