With the birth of their precious daughter in October 2023, F approached us to create a Mother’s ring as a heartfelt appreciation for his wife, K. He wanted a meaningful piece that could be worn close to her heart, incorporating subtle details representing their entire family – serving as a cherished keepsake for years to come.
Many may wonder what is a mother’s ring – it is a special piece of jewellery typically designed to celebrate motherhood. It often features the birthstones of a mother’s children, symbolizing each child’s unique presence in her life.

After discussing the timeline, F decided to craft the ring band first and bring his family back to the studio to choose the desired gemstone together. It was a meaningful experience that allowed the family of three to be involved.
Center Gemstone selection —
Born in October, the center gemstone chosen was a Tourmaline birthstone. F selected a pink hue to evoke a feminine and gentle aesthetic, serving as a reminder of their precious daughter. With options like Pink Tourmaline and Hazakura Tourmaline, these stones offer a beautiful range of shades, from soft pastel pinks to vibrant magentas.
The surprise was first carried out with the ready-made 18K Champagne Gold ring base, and the family of three sat down to choose from a small selection of Tourmalines. With the help of their adorable daughter, they were drawn to the Pink Tourmaline, which is reminiscent of the shades of a blooming rose.

Fast forward two months, and the family of three returned to collect their ring. The result was a piece that beautifully resembled a full bloom rose. With thoughtful details like the engraved date, chosen emojis, and the placement of the birthstone, each element held special significance for the family.
