For KOBO bridal classes, we offer a choice between two premium materials: 18K Gold and Platinum. With four distinct colors, you are invited to select the shade that best suit your style.

While Platinum has always been a favorite, other shades of gold that exude mellow sophistication are gaining popularity.

Explore and compare the properties of each metal below to help you make the best choice.

MATERIAL AND COLOUR AT A GLANCE

KOBO PT950 Handmade Wedding Rings

1/ Platinum — A beloved choice known for its elegance, strength, and durability. The silvery white hue exudes modern beauty, and as a naturally white metal, it is also hypoallergenic. The metal properties makes it resistant to tarnishing, and does not change colour overtime.

For our wedding ring making class, we offer Platinum 950 (PT950). This indicates that the material is composed of 95% pure platinum and 5% alloy (such as palladium, copper, etc). The alloy enhances the durability of the platinum, suitable to be worn daily and ensuring to last a life time.

For 18K gold, the composition consists of 75% pure gold combined with 25% other alloys, which impart unique colors and characteristics to the material. At KOBO, we offer three distinct shades: champagne, rose, and yellow gold, each designed to appeal to a variety of tastes.

KOBO K18 Champagne Gold Handmade Wedding Rings

2/ 18K Champagne Gold — This subtle and unique shade, typically found in Japanese brands, is a warm, muted blend created by our in-house Japanese craftsmen. It combines a mixture of gold, silver, copper, palladium, and zinc to achieve its distinct, bronzy hue.

With a honey-like appearance, champagne gold has a gender-neutral appeal and is the most popular choice among the 18K gold options at the studio. Its understated beauty complements every skin tone beautifully.

KOBO K18 Rose Gold Handmade Wedding Rings

3/ 18K Pink or Rose GoldA romantic and rosy blend. This composition is a mixture of pure gold with copper and a touch of silver that seamlessly combines vintage and contemporary beauty.

AESTHETICS APPEAL

Here is a concise summary of the appeal of the precious metals offered at our wedding ring making workshop:

  • Platinum — With its sleek, silvery tone, platinum stands out for its durability and timeless elegance. A great option for a modern, refined style with a naturally hypoallergenic quality.
  • 18K Champagne Gold — This shade offers a subtle, warm hue with a soft appearance. It’s ideal for those who seek a unique alternative to traditional gold.
  • 18K Rose Gold — Known for its romantic pinkish tone, rose gold adds a touch of vintage charm and warmth. It’s a popular choice for a modern yet classic look.
  • 18K Yellow Gold — A distinct classic and radiant glow. It’s perfect for those who appreciate traditional beauty and a rich, warm color.

To conclude, the idea of making each other’s bands can hold deep meaning and connection. Choosing the perfect wedding band shade ultimately comes down to personal choice and preference.

For couples who prefer different colors, we recommend adding the same texture or other design elements — special designs, or stone setting to create a matching pair!
